ADB-JSP Scholarship Application Guideline at Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University

The Asian Development Bank’s Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) provides opportunities for qualified residents of the ADB member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in development-related fields. Kyoto University is now one of the destination institutions of this system and opens the fields for the incoming student.

Please read the main points below and in the event you wish to use for this scholarship, please send the required documents mentioned below with the appliance for International Project Management Program (i-PM) to Graduate School of Management (GSM) Administrative Office by the appliance period (Aug.29-Sep.16, 2022).

IMPORTANT NOTE
Only applicants for i-PM (International Project Management Program) are eligible to use for
ADB-JSP scholarship.
Applicants for i-BA (International Business Admission Program) cannot apply for ADB-JSP
scholarship.

  • For applying for i-PM, you’ll want to pay the appliance fee (10,000 JPY) by the appliance period.
  • Application fee can’t be refunded in any situation.

Coverage; The ADB-JSP will cover;

  • 1) tuition fees,
  • 2) travel expenses,
  • 3) subsistence allowance of roughly 147,000 yen/month,
  • 4) medical/accident insurance,
  • 5) books/instructional material and research allowances,
  • 6) miscellaneous .

*You are required to submit financial report every 6 month and want to maintain all of the receipt for the products you could have purchased by this fund.

Eligibility;

  • All applicants of the ADB-JSP must:
  • 1) Match the appliance eligibility requirements for i-PM.
  • 2) A national of an ADB borrowing member**
  • 3) Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
  • 4) Gained admission to an approved i-PM course at Kyoto University.
  • 5) A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.
  • 6) At least two (2) years of full-time skilled working experience (acquired after a university
  • degree) at the time of application. Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to
  • give you the chance to pursue studies.
  • 7) Not greater than 35 years old at the time of application. (*Our program isn’t specified for senior
  • official and managers by ADB. Therefore, age limit isn’t greater than 35 years old.)
  • 8) In good health.
  • 9) Should comply with return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program.
  • (Required to work in his/her home country greater than 2 years after that.)
  • 10) Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives
  • of the aforementioned should not eligible for the Scholarship.
  • 11) Staff of ADB-JSP designated institutions should not eligible to use for the Scholarship.
  • 12) Applicants living or working in a rustic aside from his/her home country should not eligible for
  • scholarships.
  • 13) ADB-JSP doesn’t support applicants who’re already enrolled in graduate degree programs.
  • 14) ADB-JSP doesn’t sponsor undergraduate studies, distance learning programs, short-term training,
  • conferences, seminars, thesis writing, and research projects.
  • 15) Preference to applicants with lesser financial capability.
  • 16) The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who’ve previously studied abroad.
  • 17) The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who’re pursuing a second MA or a second
  • PhD degree

  • Please prepare the next document(s) soon after the date of announcement of successful
    applicants.
    2) Income certificate(s): Individual annual income must be issues by the present employer and family
    income (parents/spouse) must be certified true copy or notarized, in English with US$ equivalent.
    If parents are unemployed or deceased, these must also be certified or notarized.
  • We only accept any inquiries about above document(s) from successful applicants of GSM
    examination.
